British Standard Rail Key Features
British Standard Rails typically come in standard lengths ranging from 30 to 60 feet with weights between 75 and 141 pounds per yard. They feature a rounded head design to reduce wear during train operation. The chemical composition of British Standard rails plays a key role in their strength and durability. Made from high quality steel, these rails are precision engineered to meet stringent chemical specifications and typically include elements such as C, Mn, Si and S.
Typical Applications
Each type of British Standard rail is designed for different application scenarios. Lighter rail models, such as the BS60A, are suitable for urban transit systems. The BS70A rail is commonly used for heavy-duty railways. The most popular model, BS90A, is specifically used in high-speed rail systems. In addition to railway applications, these rails are also ideal for crane runways that require high rail strength.
Manufacturing Process
GloryTrack produces all British Standard Rails via hot rolling, ensuring structural integrity and surface finish. We manufacture these rails in 900A material, as well as customized materials upon request.
Delivery & Customization
We offer cutting, drilling, and surface coating services upon request. For coastal or corrosive environments, we provide anti-corrosion treatments such as galvanization or industrial painting. The rails are typically strapped with steel bands, and the packaging can be customized to meet customer requirements—options include wooden boxes, wooden pallets, or other packaging.
