DIN536 Crane Rail
DIN536 crane rail is a specialized crane rail designed to meet German standards. Compared with QU and CR rail profiles, it have a narrower head, thicker web, and wider base, with a relatively lower height. This unique shape helps it bear the heavy loads generated by crane operations. Due to the lower rail height, DIN536 crane rail typically do not use traditional fishplates for connections—instead, they are often welded or joined through specially shaped cuts at the rail head to ensure a tighter and more secure fit.
Material
DIN536 crane rails include 7 types, from A45 to A150, with model names based on the rail head width (mm). Different steel grades are used depending on the rail size and load requirements. A45 and A55 are classified as light rails and are commonly made from 50Mn steel, suitable for cranes with medium to light loads. A65 to A150 are heavy rails made from U71Mn manganese steel, which offers higher strength and better wear resistance—ideal for high-frequency, heavy-load crane operations.

Manufacturing
All DIN536 crane rails are produced using a hot rolling process, which ensures accurate dimensions and consistent internal structure. Rail lengths can be customized (typically 6–12 meters), with optional machining services such as drilling, cutting, and welded end preparation. To extend service life and improve corrosion resistance, surface treatments like sandblasting with painting or galvanization are available. These treatments are especially important for rails used in harsh industrial environments, such as cement plants or chemical factories, where extra protection is needed to ensure long-term performance.

Common Applications for DIN536 crane rails
DIN 536 crane rails are commonly used in crane track systems at ports, docks, shipyards, warehouses, and manufacturing plants. They are also suitable for mobile rail systems and ground-mounted crane tracks at terminals.
For installation, DIN 536 rails are usually fixed to concrete bases or steel beams using rail clips. These clips allow for flexible adjustments and precise alignment based on site requirements.
GloryTrack offers a full range of matching accessories for this type of rail, including rubber pads that prevent direct contact between the rail and hard surfaces. These pads help absorb shock and reduce vibration, extending the service life of both the rail and the equipment. We also supply both welded and bolted rail clips to meet different installation needs.
