Project Overview
For crane manufacturers, reliable steel materials with consistent mechanical properties are essential for ensuring structural performance and long-term service reliability.
In this project, Glory Track supplied customized steel flat bars for a New Zealand crane manufacturer. The order included Q355B flat bars with customized cutting requirements and third-party SGS inspection to verify the material quality.
The shipment was delivered from Tianjin, China, to Napier Port, New Zealand, in early August 2026.
Customer Background
The customer is a crane manufacturing company based in New Zealand, specializing in the production of lifting equipment and related steel structures.
For crane fabrication, steel components must meet strict requirements regarding strength, dimensional accuracy, and material reliability. Therefore, the customer required not only suitable steel flat bars but also verified material test reports before production.
Project Requirements
The customer required Q355B steel flat bars with specific dimensions and processing requirements.
All flat bars needed to be cut to a length of 5.8 meters, with both ends processed with 45-degree bevel cuts according to the customer’s fabrication requirements.
The ordered sizes included:
- 50 × 30 mm: 148 pieces
- 60 × 40 mm: 93 pieces
- 70 × 40 mm: 82 pieces
The total order quantity was approximately 30 tons.
In addition to dimensional requirements, the customer requested SGS third-party inspection to verify the material performance, including:
- Chemical composition analysis
- Yield strength testing
- Tensile strength testing
- Elongation testing
This inspection ensured that the supplied material met the required Q355B mechanical and chemical specifications.
Customized Steel Flat Bar Solution
Based on the customer’s application requirements, Glory Track arranged production of Q355B steel flat bars with customized end cutting.
The 45-degree bevel processing allowed the material to better fit the customer’s welding and fabrication process, improving preparation efficiency during crane structure manufacturing.
Before shipment, the materials were inspected and tested according to the customer’s requirements. The SGS inspection provided an independent verification of the steel quality and helped ensure confidence in the final application.
Packaging and Shipment
Due to the total weight of approximately 30 tons, the shipment was arranged using both full container loading and LCL transportation.
The steel flat bars were properly secured before loading to prevent movement and damage during international transportation.
The cargo was shipped from Tianjin Port, China, and transported to Napier Port, New Zealand, in early August 2026.

Project Result
By supplying customized steel flat bars with precise cutting and verified material performance, Glory Track supported the New Zealand customer’s crane manufacturing requirements with a reliable steel solution.
This project demonstrates the importance of combining material quality control with customized processing capabilities. For applications such as cranes and heavy steel structures, accurate dimensions and certified mechanical properties help ensure safe and efficient fabrication.
